Without this you get lost...
 
You take wrong turns
 
And spend too long on the road driving around..

So you input the exact start point and the exact end point of the journey so the route can be mapped out
 
Your week is exactly the same...
 
If you don't know where you need to end up at the end of the day or at the end of the week...
 
You will happily keep working all day everyday...

So it's no good just setting goals - There must be clear facts/numbers around what you want so you know when your done.

But not only that...

You must also have the exact facts of your starting point so you can put in place the roadmap to join these two points up...

Just like the car journey example above

Once you know this you begin to have the power to say NO.
 
And you get done what you said you were going to get done...
 
Sounds easy but actually it's hard (Which is why most teachers aren't doing this)

Well think about when you hop on a plane to go on holiday...

You land at the destination because the pilot knows what he is doing and doesn't drift or end up landing at a completely different airport because he went wrong mid-flight.

(That's like you being the 'YES TEACHER' mid-way through the school day...

Taking on things you shouldn't and not trusting in your gameplan you mapped out at the start of the week.

So here's where you are going wrong...
 
Making a 'To-Do' list in the first place.
 
That's what makes you unproductive and is the exact reason why you can't manage the workload and find a spare second for yourself!

I'm Elliot Phillips  - Former P.E teacher and left working in education at the end of the 14/15 academic year.

After leaving the teaching profession I explored another career path in the wellbeing industry as that just seemed a natural transition. I worked with Royal families and some of the U.K's most well now businessmen and professionals.
